Moving

With over 9 years of combined experience in ownership, we’ve moved a lot of furniture, and spent even more time obsessing over the details that enable us to offer our clients the best value! Detailed below are the considerations we’ve made, and procedures we follow, to go the extra mile.

Estimates

Before scheduling your move, it's important for us to get as much information as possible so we can be on the same page for pricing, and so we can be properly prepared for your move. Most local moves can be quoted with some basic information that can be provided by answering the questions asked on our form submission page. However, if you prefer speaking to a human, we don’t blame you, give us a call at (209) 327 9306. If we do not answer during business hours it is probably because we are on a job, but will get back to you by the end of the day. In the case of a large, or long distance move, we will want to come take a look at it in person.

Packing Supplies

There are a lot of materials needed for a seamless move, and consequently it can be easy to overlook some material that may be essential. Not to mention the hassle of going from store to store, price matching, and returns. Through our weekly moving supply orders we can bring you higher quality materials at lower costs than amazon and big box stores. Additionally whatever you don’t use we will refund and take back the day of your move. To save time and money ask us about our packing supplies.

Packing Service

To help alleviate the stress of a move we also offer discounted rates for packing, and unpacking your belongings. One or more of our professionally trained staff members will come 1-2 days before your move to pack up your loose things to ensure protection of your fragile items, and to maximize efficiency when it comes time to load the truck. If practical they can also wrap and pad your furniture that will not be used before your move.

Moving Procedure

Just as important as protecting your furniture, if not more important, is protecting your home! The first thing we do when we pull up to your home is protect the main pathway for transit with door/jamb pads, and neoprene floor runners, (as shown above) We also lay floor runners in sensitive areas throughout your home, e.g.newly cleaned carpet. We also provide carpet shielding and shoe covers per special request. For homes with stairs we include neoprene floor runners for carpet, nonslip felt pads for hardwood, and can also pad the banisters and line the walls with cardboard for extra protection! Lastly all of our dollies/hand trucks are equipped with non marring casters that are safe for all sensitive floor types.

Furniture Prep/Care

Before we load your belongings into one of our trucks, or even before navigating through your home, we pad your furniture to ensure against scratches and dings!.Where other companies use stretch wrap, or tape, to secure their pads to your furniture, (driving up extra labor and material costs), we use moving bands when possible, saving time, material cost, and the environment! Moving bands simultaneously hold bands in place while keeping doors/drawers closed during transport (see picture above). When handling extra fragile pieces e.g. grandfather clocks or glass curio cabinets, we will opt to use stretch wrap, (at no extra cost) to ensure no shifting of the glass for safe transport. At special request we can plastic cover your fabric furniture before pad wrapping.

Assembly & Disassembly

Yes we disassemble and reassemble anything that you need moved. Whether it be your bed set, power recliner, washer and dryer hookups, or hanging your tv, we have experience with it all and are happy to help.

Loading The Truck

Loading a truck to maximize space, and to protect your belongings is a crucial part of the moving process. An experienced crew can move your belongings in one trip with no incidentals, while the same job might take a novice crew three trips. With over 5,000 loaded trucks between ownership, you can be sure that your things will be loaded as safely as possible during transit.

After The Move

When we are all through with your move we are happy to take away any used packing supplies that we supplied free of charge, and are hopeful that you will recommend us to your friends, and that you would consider leaving an honest review. Your referrals are always appreciated and we thank you in advance!

Junk Removal

We make our junk removal process as simple as possible! Just send us photos of what you need hauled, via text or form submission, along with your approximate location, and we will get back to you by the end of the day (assuming pictures are sent during business hours) with a quote. We also offer discounts to seniors, veterans, and our clients using our junk/ rental service in conjunction with our moving or storage services. For savings on bigger hauls, consider our rental service!

Rentals

As with moving we have invested in the equipment to give you our client the best value! Which is why we offer 1-3 day rentals for our hydraulic dumping equipment. Choose between our 16 yard or 25 yard bins for dumpster rentals, or our 10 yard trailer, for smaller jobs. We are happy to accept any ordinary “junk”, but we are unable to take any hazardous waste, and any special waste will need to be set aside separately for proper disposal/recycling, and may be subject to a surcharge, administered by the North County Landfill. Special waste and their corresponding surcharges are listed below. Everything listed, that is accepted, will need to be set aside separately.

Equipment

Over the years we have invested our extra time and earnings into the highest quality equipment for optimum safety and efficiency, but beyond that we have purchased specialty equipment that makes moving difficult items possible, while they otherwise might not be. Below we have outlined our everyday equipment, and our specialty equipment available when necessary. 

Box Trucks

Currently we have one 20ft, and one 24ft box truck. Both trucks were designed to make moving more efficient, from their tie downs, to second tier loading platforms, to their most notable quality, liftgates. Liftgates enable one mover to do a job that would ordinarily take two, or even three movers, making loading and unloading much more efficient, and safe! They also enable us to move especially difficult items like, loaded toolboxes, or hot tubs, that would not otherwise be possible with a ramp. Depending on the size or demand of a job, either or both of our trucks are available at your service.

Dollies & Hand Trucks

Without special request our trucks will be equipped with our standard dollies/hand trucks that will work great for nearly every move. Our “H” dollies are high capacity, with safe gripping surfaces and non marring easy roll casters. Their easy tilt design makes for easier loading and step climbing. Our hand trucks are also high capacity with non marring wheels, but with the added benefit of non marring stair climbers. Lastly we will come prepared with our lifting straps, which make lifting safer and can be a lifesaver when moving up or down a second story. As mentioned before, these tools will be sufficient for most moving jobs, but for especially difficult items, we have our specialty equipment.

Specialty Moving Equipment

All pianos are wrapped/padded, and in most cases strapped to a piano board, before being transferred onto a 4 wheel dolly and wheeled into the truck. What separates us from our competition however is our extra step of caution during grand piano tilting. We employ the moon dog piano tilter, fitted for all post world war 2 pianos, making tilting even a 9’ grand, a safe and gentle process for just one mover to perform. In any case we will always insist on having at least two movers for the entirety of any piano move.

Gun Safe Moves

For most safes we will get by with our “bp beast hand truck”, suction cup handles, and a floor dolly. However, with safes in excess of 600 pounds we will opt to use our ultralift stair climbing hand truck, and our 12 wheel safe floor dolly. Both have capacities over 1500 lbs, and utilize non marring wheels, designed specifically for even weight distribution, making them stable, and safer for your floors. Regardless of these special casters, we will protect your flooring with neoprene lined plywood, and hardwood stairs will be covered with non-slip stair felt protectors. These tools make safe moving much safer for your home and our properly trained staff! At this time we are currently not bolting safes to your floor, but this is subject to change in future.

Spa/Hot Tub Moves

 Moving spas can often be a dauntless task, this is because they are very heavy and the path from the backyard to the truck is often riddled with obstacles, whether it be low hanging trees/gutters, or rough terrain like steps or gravel. Our spa slider is the best tool to navigate anything your backyard throws at us, able to glide over multiple terrains and giving your spa the lowest possible clearance during transport. Most spas will require two movers and will fit in one of our box trucks, though larger spas will need to be transported on our flatbed trailer.

We operate with two watertight boxed trucks measuring 24′ x 8′ x 8′, each with a capacity of 3,000 lbs. Additionally, we have a triple axel trailer measuring 16′ x 8′ x 4′.
